I wonder what it is. Something isn’t right. The driver who stepped on it didn’t even check properly, and the person who stepped on it sat down right away. I was supposed to be okay after being trampled by that huge Ford pickup truck. And at the end, it twitches… This is a video of a strange accident taken in Vietnam.

Discrepancies between the viral video and the reality, Vietnam, a country with many accidents
There are no reports or fact checks that specify when or where this video was taken. However, there have been cases in the past in Vietnam where shocking footage of an accident went viral on social media, only to find out that the reality was not what it seemed. On September 21, 2026, a video of a trailer truck overturning on National Highway 27 in the central province of Khanh Hoa went viral, sparking speculation that it was a serious accident, but local police confirmed that the driver was alone and unharmed. In another case, local police denied that images of a police car accident in Dong Nai Province were fake and generated by AI. The degree of impact shown in the video does not necessarily correspond to the actual damage.
As a background, traffic accidents in Vietnam are not uncommon. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to October 2025 alone, there were 15,251 accidents and 8,515 fatalities, meaning an average of 28 people died each day. According to WHO estimates, the death rate is 18 per 100,000 people, which is about three times that of Australia. While it is difficult to individually confirm the authenticity of videos, the frequency of accidents themselves is structurally high.
