This page explains how the TOXIC SAMURAI Editorial Team selects, prepares and corrects the stories we publish.
Focus on Asia
We publish stories connected to Japan, East Asia (China, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong) and Southeast Asia. A story qualifies when the place, the people involved or the organisations at its centre are clearly tied to one of these regions. We do not publish stories only because they went viral elsewhere.
How stories are selected
- The story concerns a real event or real content that is being discussed in Asia.
- The core facts can be followed from the material we work from.
- It fits one of our two sections: Gore or Porn / Adult.
Translation and editing
Stories are translated from Asian-language material into English and edited for clarity. We keep the meaning of the original: we do not add facts, places or nationalities that are not supported by the material, and we restore censored words to their plain meaning rather than sensationalising them. Headlines describe what happened.
SAMURAI Context and SAMURAI Note
Some stories include a short background section, labelled SAMURAI Context (gore) or SAMURAI Note (adult). They explain local background, similar past cases, related social issues or why a story drew attention online.
Graphic and adult content
Gore stories may show death, injury and violence. Adult stories contain sexually explicit material. Our pages are labelled for adult audiences and are intended only for adults where such content is legal. We do not publish material that appears to involve minors in sexual content.
Corrections
If you find an error, contact us with the article URL and what needs fixing. When we correct a factual error, we update the article.
Removal requests
If you appear in content we published, or you are the rights holder of material on this site, contact us with the article URL and the reason for your request. We review every request and remove or edit content where appropriate.
